Ask the seller for proof you can compare
Request the rear or hidden face, mounting points, numbers, connectors and a ruler beside important dimensions. Reused catalogue photos do not prove the seller holds the item shown.
Check the donor boundary
Model names can cover several platforms, markets and production changes. Record the donor year, variant, engine, transmission, body and removal position when they affect the part.
Calculate the delivered total
Keep item price, local collection, packing, consolidation, international freight, tax, duty, carrier charges and domestic delivery separate. Keep currency and quote dates visible rather than hiding exchange-rate risk in one number.
Price weak evidence
A cheaper part with no measurements, no return path and uncertain donor history may have the higher expected cost. Record the evidence confidence beside the money so the comparison stays honest.
